A Time to Kill

I watched this last night, yet again. It never ceases to amaze me how some flicks will keep me coming back, even if some of the scenarios are over-the-top (like the klan and community clashes, in this film).
But there are several scenes that bring me to tears everytime I see it. Especially in the beggining, when Carl Lee seeks revenge in the court house. The direction, cinematography, editing and score come together to make a brilliant sequence that had me so choked up, I could not even speak for a few minutes (again). And, that’s just the beginning of the film. Totally hooks me everytime. And then I have to watch, as if the outcome might be different in this viewing.
This film has a lot of parallels to one my favorte stories, “To Kill A Mockingbird”
