just a little snack

For a couple of weeks now, during the morning walk with the dogs, Battle (the stubborn male) has vanished into the woods at the point when it’s time to go, and it’s been difficult getting him to leave. I figured something caught his attention, and as in the past, he was returning to the scene to see if whatever it was was still around.

Well, this morning, same thing. Finally he comes out all bouncing and happy and carrying a rather large deer leg in his mouth. And there’s no way he’s letting anyone near him to take it away.

At first I’m thinking, I will never catch him, be late for work, and be having a bad day. He was about 40 yards from me attempting to chew on it and protect it at the same time. I got in the truck, drove over and told him to get in the truck. He dropped it, and then I got out, and he got in the truck.

I was happy, and that leg was gross.
