political frustration

Saturday, August 30th, 2008, 1:31 pm, by mg.

It really sucks living in a state that will probably never vote my way. It’s really tough when a lot of friends and family are on the other side of the fence. It’s hard to defend on either side, and to top it off, the guy you’re just debating with at the en of the debate (he started) says “it doesn’t matter to me anyway, I don’t vote.”

It makes one think, do we really matter? Are we just a bunch of fleas on this planet, and our time will come to an end like all other species? It would seem we destroy everything we touch.

Not trying to be a bummer here. Just thinking out loud. Feel free to slap me and yell “snap out of it!”

Gotta run, I have the all-important yard to maintain so my neighbors don’t report me.

iphone/at&t baffles me with SMS vs MMS

Thursday, July 10th, 2008, 8:36 am, by mg.

It’s obvious at&t want you to use email to send attachments, but what I’m confused about is the complicated way they address this when a friend sends you a picture via MMS, and at&t converts the message with a URL that goes to viewmymessage.com and generates, each time, a different (and very complicated) username and password for you to input so you can view it.

It’s not so much that it sends you to a website to view, but the fact you have to toggle back and forth many times because you can’t remember this complicated user information. Since it’s automated, and since it goes directly to your phone, why not just have a link to an image. Why not assign just a single username and password. It just doesn’t make sense with all the technology at hand.

Grrr
